Although you'd be forgiven for having missed it - yesterday's budget confirmed it: private partnerships are back to fund NHS projects.🚨

So who DID ask for PFI to come back? While 69 NHS trusts still owe £21bn on old PFI contracts?

The Welsh parliament, Nigel Farage, @prifweinidog.gov.wales @eddavey.libdems.org.uk & @zackpolanski.bsky.social are all now in agreement that we need a govt-led inquiry into Russian interference. So what on earth is the problem??

The Fiji coral spawning video has dropped. Son says this is the best spawning in 8 years. Coral normally spawns in the dark of night but this happy reef is so fecund it carries on spawning in the daylight! Give it a like on YouTube if you back marine conservation!

Your quick reminder that the reason the NHS is in this state is specifically because of what politicians have done. The NHS isn’t useless. The model isn’t defunct. Politicians have actively under-resourced our public healthcare system. It’s a travesty. 🚨

The PM is going to a rainforest in Brazil tomorrow.

Britain has rainforests too.

I agree with the Woodland Trust:

"This feels like a lost opportunity to demonstrate domestic leadership in the protection & restoration of the UK's own precious temperate rainforests."

The UK is doing worse on public health than many comparable nations — and the gap in healthy life between rich and poor is 18 years.

Tackling health inequalities must be a core responsibility of government.

The government backs Heathrow expansion — but it’s not all or most of Britain that wants to fly more.

Just 3% of people take 30% of all flights. A few frequent flyers get the perks, while everyone else gets the noise, air pollution and climate chaos.

It’s wild how so many people are gaslit into believing declining health and being sick all the time is just ‘normal’ in your 30s. No. This is what repeated COVID infections do.

We need constantly to remind ourselves that there's nothing normal or inevitable about it. It would be a catastrophe from which we would not recover for many years, in which terrible things are done, to minorities, to vulnerable people, to the rest of the living planet. We cannot let it happen.

Swiss epidemiologists warn of a severe infection season. Masks in crowded indoor spaces or on public transport help prevent infections and show solidarity. Extra care for those 65+, immunocompromised and those with cold symptoms.

5 years into this experiment: we let COVID rip and pretended it was fine. Damage piled up—unlike smoking’s slow toll, we’re seeing it in real time. Every infection leaves a mark; even “mild.” The bill comes due. We chose denial
