@nickofferman.bsky.social is the absolute best 💜 Be more like him, and less like that weirdo he quoted

AI is making people dumber and those people are then wandering around in public making the rest of us deal with their stupidity.
This is bleak reading

When I worked in radio, I took semi-annual payola courses & couldn't even accept lunch from a label rep. Turns out, that was a win-win because I didn't want to spend more time with them than necessary but still...
A PLANE?!?!
My dad turned down tickets to a BULLETS game when he was chief of staff of the senate foreign relations committee!
And this guy accepts A PLANE?

This is why you don't owe anyone 2 weeks notice. @anntelnaes.bsky.social won the Pulitzer for "fearlessness" in commentary. She resigned from @washingtonpost.com after they wouldn't publish her cartoon criticizing the owner for being spineless. They're trying to claim it as their win. This is hers.

At their worst, the "make yourself into a doll," "turn your pet into a person," & other AI trends are bad for the planet, thanks to wasted water and unnecessary carbon emissions. At their best, they're corny & boring.

A quick reminder: we root for the underdog, not the villain. It's not cool to root for Biff from "Back to the Future."

If you wouldn't throw a hammer through a wall in your house & expect the builder to come fix it for free, please don't break your site & expect the designer to fix it for free. ✌️

Millions protested today and not a single turd was wiped on the wall of a federal building.

My grandma always used to say, "Room temp 7Up helps settle your tummy & notsees are bad."

P.S. Anyone know if we have to write in code here, too?

Get a website, redesign your website, write a blog, try YouTube, start a podcast, create a newsletter or Substack. Just try new things. Meta isn't the only game in town.

It's the shiplap of vocabulary. P.S. Beth, I knew we were kindred spirits years ago but things like this really drive it home.
There's a lot we need to work on, my first request is rather trivial, but can we please eliminate the rhetorical use of the word "right" at the end of every statement? TIA

Hot tip for the kids: take college math courses online. It's easier to cheat that way, plus calculators & QuickBooks exist.

I'll pick up right away if we've established the trust that can only be built by talking trash and dilly dallying regularly.
i am sorry to my gen x coworkers but you have to understand i am never, under any circumstances, going to answer a teams call without a message outlining why we need to talk first

Bowen Yang: For anything to be AI, it has to be derivative by default.

Nailed it. It's just aggregating/stealing content already created by humans & passing it off as your own. By the way, we can tell you didn't write it.

This feels right for my first share here.
Fact: The Counting Crows lyric “it’s been a long December” was written halfway through the first day of December.
