53. Anyone buying a new internal combustion car now is silly. EVs aren’t the answer to everything – especially congestion of cities – but they do use much less energy, it's relatively easy-to-decarbonise energy, and, with flexibility, they can support the grid.

“Solar panels are cheaper than ordinary fencing materials” 🤯
5. Solar modules now cost 8.9 US cents per Watt (higher in US, India due to trade barriers). Solar panels are cheaper than ordinary fencing materials. For rooftop installs, non-module cost is still $0.50-3.00 per Watt, so further module price declines make little difference.

The Danish government set a target back in 2020 aiming for one (1) million Electric Vehicles in #Denmark by 2030.
Projections now say more likely to hit 100x growth or 1.6M #EVs by 2030.
I guess we tend to underestimate new technologies and innovations!
P.S. Norway 🇳🇴 is still leading the pack 💪

Denmark’s progress is just 🥹
Things happened slowly at first, but it looks like we’re seeing an acceleration toward the end of ICE vehicles sales across the globe. ICE sales are down about 18% from their peak in 2016.
Global ICE sales peaked in 2016 at 80.47 million autos and fell to 62.05 million in 2024! They may fall below 50 million by 2028.
EV sales were 1.8 million in June or ~21.6 million/yr.
EV sales may be 30 million in 2028, pushing ICE below 50 million. ourworldindata.org/electric-car... #energysky
