"experts say the main culprits for why the blazes spread so quickly and destroyed so much aren’t political so much as unchecked urban sprawl and climate change"

which are...political.

The rapid rot of Threads is insane to watch in real time. Faster than Twitter deteriorated. The amount of patently false posts about the LA fires on top of ai images and video of shit burning on both threads and Instagram is astounding.

It’s times like this where I miss old Twitter the most. All I want is good, real up-to-the minute info. Threads is mostly 18h-old engagement baiting about nothing, Bluesky is mostly (justifiable) politicizing about climate realities in wake of this tragedy and I haven’t even bothered with X…

Where do i go to rant about what hot trash Spotify has become? Is this it? Is it Threads? Someone please guide me….

Enshittification is my new favorite word.

With great engagement comes great responsibility, which means Bluesky CEO @jay.bsky.team has a lot to do. She sat down with WIRED to talk about it.

I think the wrong questions r being asked about the proposed tariffs. The real question Is how little will he accept from Mexico , Canada and China in order to be able to say the threat of tariffs worked ?

The usual suspects are out there yelling "There are 23 million government workers! Fire most of them!" No awareness that most work for local governments, and most of *them* are schoolteachers. Federal employment hasn't grown since the 1950s

Don’t forget, the vines are mortal, the vineyard is not.
Recent years have seen a ground swell in support of the conservation of old vines but, Richard Baudains asks, what are they actually bringing to the table?

I’m still not sure what’s going on here. It’s like the first school dance you went to. You know you want to be there, you think you’re supposed to be there but you really have no idea what you’re doing. Is this place just gonna be politics driven! Sports and news? Is Wine Bluesky gonna be a thing?
