This is the facility that I and many others have been protesting. We’ve been hit, thrown, gassed, and shot with pepper bullets but none of that holds a candle to what is being done to people *in* the actual facility.

Read this thread. Don’t look away. Keep your eyes and the pressure on Broadview.
A family friend was telling us about what her husband shared about his experience in Broadview before he was deported back to Mexico. She's been sharing to friends and family because she's just in disbelief & horror what her husband told her. She wasn't able to talk to him until he was in Mexico.

More Than 170 U.S. Citizens Have Been Held by Immigration Agents. They’ve Been Kicked, Dragged and Detained for Days.
The government does not track how often immigration agents grab citizens. So ProPublica did. Our tally — almost certainly incomplete — includes people who were held for days without a lawyer. And near...

NEW: In May, a Texas police department said they used the powerful Flock surveillance network against a woman who had an abortion "for her safety"

Newly obtained court records show it was a 'death investigation,' and they considered charging her with a crime

Court records show that the narrative Flock and a Texas Sheriff's Office has told the public isn't the whole story, and that police were conducting a 'death investigation' into the abortion.

More than 1800 detainees are missing after the closure of Alligator Alcatraz. Their families and lawyers can’t find them and they’ve vanished from the ICE database. Feels like this should be a much bigger story www.miamiherald.com/news/local/i...

As of the end of August, the whereabouts of two-thirds of more than 1,800 men detained at Alligator Alcatraz during the month of July could not be determined by the Miami Herald.

An insightful read showing how some parents become radicalised into ‘gender critical’ transphobia when their child comes out as trans.

Here, one of the most unhinged leaders of the ‘Mom’s for Liberty’ movement is interviewed, along with their amazingly well-adjusted non-binary child…
A mom of a nonbinary teen became an anti-trans activist, fracturing a California family
A Sacramento-area mom fights against “gender indoctrination” and creates a chasm with her nonbinary child who wants to pursue person-hood

This is an agent of the US federal government, armed for live-fire combat against a modern army, slamming a passive and nonviolent female candidate for the US Congress into asphalt.

Then walking away without checking if she has injuries, with his identity concealed behind a black facemask.
moments ago, ice agents again came out of the broadview detention/“professing” facility to escort a silver suv out of the lot.

one of the agents picked up and threw congressional candidate kat abughazaleh to the ground.

1/ I worked at DoD. I literally cannot imagine lawyers coming up with a legal basis for lethal strike of suspected Venezuelan drug boat.

Hard to see how this would not be "murder" or war crime under international law that DoD considers applicable.

We tried so hard to explain that the anti-trans panic wasn't just going to hurt trans people.

Whether through recklessness or intent it resulted in extremely weird, broad, harmful laws.

I'm not mad, but I'm telling you, we really tried.
Last year, Idaho passed a strict law that forbids anyone from providing to a minor any service that could be construed as medical or psychological in nature without parental consent.

Now, minors calling the state's suicide hotline are being forced to have a parent speak for them or hang up

The LGML case came very close to being JGG redux.

But just before the hearing began, the judge decided not to wait. She entered a TRO barring removal of all the children.

That made all the difference: DHS already had the kids loaded on planes. One plane even took off (then turned around).
This whole scenario feels like it's straight outta the government's Alien Enemies Act/J.G.G. playbook.

In J.G.G., Boasberg entered TRO barring removal of named plaintiffs and set weekend emergency hearing on certification of class. But DHS started removing people just before/during hearing...
