Life is short and the world is wide…
Animals with misleading names. I'm seeing this go around as part of a viral tumblr thread so I thought I'd reshare it.

Today I'm launching a Crowdfunder with the incredible Grace Quantock.

The aim of this is to get Grace's book "Living Well with Chronic Illness" into health centres across the UK.

We be so grateful for your support.

Random thought provoked by this article: Summer, Autumn and Winter are used as names but not Spring. Spring is a great season, who did it offend?

Post-vacation thoughts: it’s nice to be back with a shower that doesn’t require minutes of figuring out and getting the temperature right.

Sincerely delighted to discover, 45 minutes into this nearly-wordless three-hour documentary about French monks who take vows of silence, that among the reasons they *can* talk is "to make sure the monastery cats know when it's mealtime by making little kitty-calling noises at them."

Time for #DuvetKnowItsChristmas

I’m not home for Christmas this year so this is bringing me comfort (and occasional snorts of laughter!).
1/ So, where were we? Oh yep, #duvetknowitschristmas. Firstly, some admin: Twitter/X has evidently been run into the ground by a preening, self-radicalised clot, so while there's a slim possibility that this annual celebration might be thriving over there, I won't know cos I won't be looking.

Did you know there was a strike edition of NYT games???
The striking workers are posting games, though! I’ve been playing Connections again for the past few days and enjoying this bit of normalcy.

Half drunk would mean that I hadn’t completely forgotten about it!

Still full and stone cold is my norm. I only find a cup of tea when I pick the cup up to go and make a cup of tea.

On a good day, I set an alarm to remind me to drink it.
Unofficial ADHD screening: how many half drunk cups of tea have you accumulated so far today?

Big news.
"[Scotland] has detected no cases of cervical cancer in women born between 1988-1996 who were fully vaccinated against HPV between the ages of 12 and 13."

That's honestly so amazing.
HPV vaccine study finds zero cases of cervical cancer among women vaccinated before age 14
In a large Scottish study, no cases of cervical cancer were found among women who received HPV vaccines before they turned 14.
