This statement from Jonathan Joss's husband is heart breaking.

No, headline writers, he wasn't "killed in an argument with a neighbor." He was *deliberately murdered* for being gay right after his dog was decapitated.

Bet the murderer calls himself a "Christian."

THIS is why Pride is important.

Corrupt judges let a criminal get away with treason and run for president. Propagandists masquerading as journalists lied to enough people that the criminal won. Then the criminal sold a half share in the presidency to the world's richest man, whom no one voted for. That's what happened, folks.

"The lamentable distinctions of the Southern states in this area speak to just how far the region has to go in order to realize its potential as a true liberal democratic society." And not only that - the South's democracy deficit is becoming national.
Waiting for Liberal Democracy in the American South
Our country’s constitutional order is withering before us. In the states of the former Confederacy, democracy never fully flourished.

When you don't realize that the "Have you ever been convicted of a crime?" question on federal forms is supposed to be a disqualifier not a requirement.
Witty was director of photography at Wired when I was on staff there. He went on to be photo editor at the New York Times and then deputy director of photography at National Geographic, before he left that position after being accused of predatory sexual behavior by women who worked for him
The White House has hired Patrick Witty, a Pulitzer Prize-winning photographer who left his role at National Geographic in 2017 after allegations of misconduct.

Being a historian, people ask me if I think the US is living through Germany 1933.

I answer no, analogies are always imperfect but to me it feels more like Russia 1999: a blatant theft of state assets and liberals in a fugue state, refusing to believe the arc of progress is bending against them.

Chaos is the cheapest ingredient in a revolution.

It takes zero effort to destroy things. To sabatoge, throw a temper tantrum, & burn it all down.

Chaos agents are weak & have too vapid of an ideology to build a functional system.

Revolutionaries who come only with chaos, come with nothing.
