I heard from a bunch of federal employees last night and this morning. They aren't happy.

"I would rather be an actual pawn. At least pawn sacrifices are calculated and achieve something. All this for a fucking meaningless vote."

I would put more money on continuing to harvest infinite energy from the sun over assuming that forcing everyone to use The Machine The Lies To You is the steady basis of an entire economy
A fun question. In 5 years time, what looks better? The US’s enormous bet & capex on AI? Or China’s equally enormous bet and capex on renewables?
China has made cheap, clean energy available in huge quantities. The world should take the win econ.st/4oqFszB

The apparent goal of AI is to separate the source from the knowledge - to obscure the artist’s name from the art.

This is a dangerous game

speaking as a jew: aipac lies. most american jews strongly favor palestinian rights and dignity because "never again" means *never again to anyone" and netanyahu has committed war crimes treasonable to jewish morality, among others.

mamdani's victory is a victory for all of us in all of our ways.
Zohran Mamdani won NYC Mayor while unapologetically:
-Calling Israel's siege on Palestinians a genocide
-Upholding ICC's warrant to arrest Netanyahu
-Upholding BDS as a legitimate form of free speech
-Demanding Palestinian self-determination
-Securing a plurality of Jewish voters

This is the future

I am no longer employed so I'm not blogging Zohran tonight but I can just repeat exactly what I said in June :-)

he won on the back of a pro-migrant, pro-trans, pro-working class campaign. and also: Dem pundits are full of shit
The Democratic Party Needs to Learn from Zohran Mamdani's Guts and Backbone
Zohran Mamdani did something different, and it made all the difference.

I took the habit to make small paintings between one map and the next, acting as "palette cleaners", to avoid throwing away good pigment. I'm kinda liking that one, tbh!
