Why do headlines say "norms shattered" when what is meant is "laws broken" or "Constitution violated"?

One thing i did before I started writing this huge-ass book that no one will ever get to read is that I sat down and generated a list of names. name after name after name. It was the most genius thing I ever did before starting a story and i listed 100 names and that was not enough names
I reread Michael Moorcock's advice on how to write quickly several times this year as I made notes, and what stuck with me was emphasis on having "everything prepared before you begin." Magic names, city names, character names, even if they're just lists. Lists of shit you can tap when you're stuck

The Chicago Sun-Times using ChatGPT to publish a list of books to read that *do not exist* is … insane.

Dude. Bruh. What the actual fuck is wrong with you?

Recent polling shows that most people don’t want this bill.

More than half of respondents said they want these decisions to be made locally, while only a third think the decision should be made by the state.

The majority has it right.

😳 so you know they are gonna sweep up *actual* American citizens to hit these numbers.

They are purging undesirables. The Nazis did the same thing in 1933.
