NATO did not "stay a little back, off the front lines."

Danish, British and Estonian troops served in Helmand, and Canadian forces in Kandahar - the two most dangerous Afghan provinces.

Denmark, UK, Estonia & Canada suffered amongst the highest per‑capita soldier death rates when defending the US.
Trump on NATO: "I've always said, will they be there if we ever needed them? That's really the ultimate test. I'm not sure of that. We've never needed them. They'll say they sent some troops to Afghanistan and this or that. And they did. They stayed a little back, off the front lines."

Has Trump just breached the only trade deal he struck?

At the time, British PM Starmer described the deal as one that "will remove tariffs on British steel and aluminium, reducing them to zero."

Yet Trump just announced that they'll get a 25% tariff.

TACO describes a single circumstance: if you're a stock trader, there's a pattern to Trump announcing something (knocking the market down) but then walking it back somewhat (and the market goes right back up). Point is, don't panic sell.

Outside of that one situation, it's inaccurate and unhelpful.
I’m just going to say it: the TACO thing is straight up not true.

He doesn’t always cave. We are still in a trade war and ask Abrego Garcia what he thinks of the caving.

Elected officials like it because it confirms their firm belief that if they do nothing, he loses by himself.

Only Republicans are able to wreck the federal government—making it incapable of performing basic functions from air traffic control to food safety inspections, and destroying morale among remaining employees—while still making the deficit even larger.
House Republicans snuck a massive policy change into their tax bill that could upend the civil service: It would make new federal employees "at will" unless they agree to an effective 5% pay cut.

One union official told me it amounts to "criminal extortion."
