My constituent, Wilmer, was mauled by an ICE attack dog despite the fact that, as he has consistently explained, he was not resisting arrest or trying to flee—his wife and young children, all U.S. citizens, were forced to watch helplessly as Wilmer was violently attacked and dragged away.

Some great news: I just got off the phone with the U.S. Coast Guard, who has returned the rescue helicopter to Newport and promised to keep it there. This is a big win to keep fishermen and the Newport community safe.

The Dialogue Liaison Officer program is relatively new, and Sergeant Daniel DiMatteo says it reflects a commitment to explore new approaches and work to improve community policing. He says he thinks people are responding positively overall.
