This is a sewing pattern. It is also a page from a late 14th century manuscript that is one of two primary sources for an important Icelandic saga (Sturlunga saga), but that was probably not important to the 17th century person who really needed a sewing pattern.

Can I just say how glad I am that we are *not* one of those species that evolved to die right after our babies are born? (Not to say that never happens to human women, because of course it does, but for us it’s a tragic exception, not an inevitability.)

Cpt Barnacles, Action Hero, sprinted across a rope bridge that was collapsing under the weight of a giant metal armadillo vehicle, grabbed the loose rope, and hauled the entire bridge back into place with his polar bear strength until the rest of them could get to safety. #CaptainBarnaclesisdreamy
