Get ready to rock and roll!
A Sudden Stratospheric Warming is on the way. In about two weeks, temperatures 12 miles up over Canada and Greenland are forecast to spike by 50°F or more. That’s a shockwave in the stratosphere — a rapid disruption of the polar vortex high above the Arctic… 1/

There's a decent chance that HURRICANE SEASON 2025 IS OVER. Hostile upper winds are increasingly dominating the tropics. If this is it, the season ends with near normal numbers EXCEPT for 3 Category 5's including Melissa, which was stunningly and tragically off the charts. More at HurricaneIntel.com

For only the second time in recorded history, an Atlantic season has produced three Category 5 hurricanes... the previous year was 2005. This puts 2025 in an elite class of hurricane seasons. It also means that nearly 7% of all known Category 5 hurricanes have occurred just in this year.

A common criticism of global warming is: “It’s only a few degrees”.
It may not sound like much but consider this…
Compare Earth’s escalating warmth to your body’s fever.
Now all of a sudden a few degrees is the difference between life and death!

There's a good essay in @science.org about the importance of free global access to climate and weather data. The atmosphere doesn't know about borders, so paywalls anywhere hurt predictions everywhere; even more so for those who can't pay

This is arguably one of the most complex steering scenarios in recent memory!! Two hurricanes(?), a stalled cut-off upper low, and a deep Greenland cold pool diving south. How all these factors interact with each other is driving the models (and meteorologists lol) up the wall!! 1/
