Incompetence or deliberate? is the first question. The second is do these redactions comply with the law as written?
Ok. Now had a chance to check and, well, at least some docs do appear to be straight up classic redaction fail. And there are some *interesting* bits here.

This is Robbie Gibb.
He and the other right-wing political appointees to the BBC are a big part of the problem there.

"When the Left sees bias in BBC coverage, its arguments are dismissed. When the Right does, it’s a national scandal."

Yep. Nobody was forced to resign when they did exactly the same thing (only worse!) to Corbyn. The BBC just "rejected" the BBC Trust's finding. bsky.app/profile/jimc...

So someone complains about a TV show people in his country didn't see and knew nothing about. That show didn't insert a wipe between two things he actually said (and error indeed).
Now he wants $1bn. Maybe he understands the Streisand effect or maybe he doesn't. Or it's part of a pattern maybe.

How the BBC kowtowed to Boris Johnson. Amazing that, even though we now know what a corrupt, mendacious, useless Prime Minister Johnson was, the BBC are kowtowing to him again

An essential precondition for authoritarianism is the neutering of sources of real news.

To understand how big an own goal the Panorama edit was for the BBC, you need to understand the folly of it being free ammunition for Robbie Gibb.
The former Tory spin doctor and midwife at the birth of GB News, it seems to me, has no interest in impartiality unless it serves his political agenda.

It takes considerably longer to build something than to destroy it.
If the key public services in this country took 14 years to dismantle, they won't be rebuilt in five years. That said, they'll never be rebuilt if current progress isn't accelerated.

Where they will ban abortions but also cut funding for infant formula and SNAP funds that feed kids.

Nigel Farage is wrong about the European Convention on Human Rights.

He thinks we should leave the ECHR to reduce migration.

But not only do just a tiny number of immigration cases rely on human rights, leaving the ECHR would be an unmitigated disaster ⬇️

Putin’s pet Farage had a meltdown, saying “never trust a Tory.” That preening idiot must have forgotten he is one.
