If that is your agreed form of democracy then that is his mandate. Few if any forms of democracy require over 50% of the vote let alone 50% of the population to support the result.

Maybe so. However the USA and the Trump regime are one and the same thing. We may not like that, but the people voted for Trump and legitimised his immunity from prosecution. What Trump does he does for and on behalf of the American people with a democratic mandate. Sadly

I watched it and can't really remember much about it? I suppose that fact tells its own story.

Most vacuum cleaners before Brexit as now, have to build in vents to reduce their suction. More powerful is no better, you have to be able to push them and also not suck up the carpet.
But Brexiters were easy to convince otherwise.

This reporting of 'sources' should be treated with all the certainty of similar reports from 'sources' about football transfers in the January window.

I draw a distinction between people's ability at being a politician and their politics.

That's the 'political realist' part of my bio.

Yep. Nobody was forced to resign when they did exactly the same thing (only worse!) to Corbyn. The BBC just "rejected" the BBC Trust's finding. bsky.app/profile/jimc...

It's had issues for longer than that but you appear to be celebrating the departure of the wrong people. I so wish you were right but sadly....

And pandering to his agenda by removing dissenting voices in the editorial process serves your objectives how precisely?
November 10, 2025 at 9:22 AM
No of course not. He helped set up GB News and described himself as a Thatcherite.

Perhaps, but if Robbie Gibb has his way you may get coverage but not the type you want.
Think GB News on steroids, masquerading as impartial.
