A House vote on the SAVE Act is imminent. If enacted, 69 MILLION married women would have a much harder time registering to vote bc their name doesn’t match their birth certificate. It shouldn’t be harder for women to vote than to their husbands…why do we even have to say that #HandsOffHerVote

The Trump administration's threat to fire employees is not about so-called government efficiency—it's clear political retaliation at the expense of people’s livelihoods, careers, and the vital services they provide to the American people. More from Greta Bedekovics: https://ow.ly/jBHZ50X4kNk
The Trump Administration Plans to Retaliate for a Government Shutdown by Firing Federal Employees—But Can It?
A government shutdown would limit, not expand, the authorities the administration has—including its ability to fire federal employees—which is why it must move forward with firing plans now.

On the 60th anniversary of the VRA, conservatives thought it was a good idea to launch a bus tour to support the SAVE Act-legislation that would restrict citizens' right to vote.... Bus tours were instrumental in the fight for voting rights during the civil rights movement. They know no shame

Today marks the 60th anniversary of the Voting Rights Act being signed into law; with the courts having gutted key provisions of the VRA, Americans have less protections for voting now than they did upon the VRA's enactment. Congress must reauthorize an updated VRA, it must pass the John Lewis VRAA

Fun reminder than when Trump asked states for their voter data in 2017, the Louisiana Republican Secretary of State told the administration to “go jump in the Gulf of Mexico.” Sure hope states are telling him to go jump in the Gulf of America this time.

Before passing the SAVE Act last week, House GOP rejected an amendment that would have allowed for digital copies of citizenship docs, likely saving online voter reg. They really doubled down and said we’re gonna force rural Americans to drive hours just to update their voter reg info. #HandsOff

The Trump administration is claiming the power to send you to a prison, forever, without any trial and without any recourse.

You do not have any rights if they can do that. That is the end of actual freedom.

Begging you to be physically present today, showing your opposition.
Holy shit. Video posted by President Bukele’s team on X shows the moments before his press conference with Trump in which Trump tells him: “We want to do homegrown criminals next. You gotta build about five more places.”

Over 69 million women would have to get new IDs to vote under the SAVE Act.
