It may be that the Trump presidency reminds people of the dangers of untrammelled power - but that's only going to happen if politicians, journalists & opinion formers actively make that case.

It is January 26, 2025. I am 38 years old. I’m standing in line to panic-buy coffee before new tariffs. Six days ago, a billionaire did a Nazi salute at Trump’s second inauguration. They’re shipping migrants out of the country by military airlift. I feel grateful I don’t have much life ahead of me.
