Calling business owners, employees and all residents to stand firm against privatised water.

If we want our water back we must take it back together.

This is why I’m calling on businesses a residents to stand together and take action against private water companies.

None of us are secure, with shareholders in the driver seat.

totally avoidable, the result of years of profit-taking and underinvestment by greedy water companies. nationalise them all, without compensation, and start again.

Wales just switched to a not for profit model decades ago. You don’t even have to nationalise - there’s the Glas Cymru/National Rail model of escaping the hell of privatised water.
England's ideological privatisation IS the first problem to solve

THEN we can build on best practice from around the world

"With public ownership, we could have households and anti-sewage groups on the boards of water companies to make them truly accountable"

Re-nationalise our water supply- the shareholders have extracted more than enough wealth from our water system, time to take water back into public ownership!!
"... government's white paper on water has failed to bring water back into public ownership
Regulations have failed, and shareholders have extracted enormous profits while water bills have rocketed
We need real change, not half measures
Public ownership is the only solution"

Nationalise the water industry, prosecute the bosses. Water is a basic human need, nobody's supply of it should be dependant on a profit seeking private company

We can make a stand against privatised water, this letter from @labourlewis.bsky.social is just one step.

We need residents and businesses to stand together and say we will not stand for this‼️

Already too many people have seen what could be a future for all of us.

We have to act now.
🤩Brilliant from @labourlewis.bsky.social.bsky.social on Thames Water.

⁉️ Is your MP OK with sewage until 2040 ⁉️

✉️ We've written an open letter to Ofwat and the Environment Secretary, urging them to reject the Thames Water creditors' deal

✍️ Make sure your MP's name is on it.

Let’s MAKE it happen.

We live in a democracy let’s vote with our feet and get out on the streets against private water.

Businesses don’t need to shut down like they did in Tunbridge Wells this month.

Let’s prove our strength against this weak, crumbling structure.

A little push is all it takes.
The privatised water companies want the government to hurry up and abolish Ofwat

How is that going to help?

The government should hurry up and REMOVE their licences, starting with Thames Water *which wants to pollute outside of legal limits until 2040*

Slow pace of reforms means Ofwat is likely to be influencing household bills and infrastructure for another decade

We have an option to force their hand, and we must take it.
Time for the Government to deal with this.

England is the only country in the world with a fully privatised water system. The government controls water supply in Scotland and Northern Ireland, while much of Wales is supplied by the not-for-profit Dŵr Cymru.

If we refused to pay failing would be the only option for these blood suckers.

But enough of us have to refuse.

we’ve done it before, with the Poll Tax, we can do it with here too. When the working class and its allies come together we are strong.
I've written to Environment Secretary Emma Reynolds about the new water white paper 👇

Government must step in to remove Thames Water and South East Water's licences

The privatised water companies have failed and they must be ALLOWED TO FAIL

British exceptionalism is blinding you to a better future for the people of this country.

One better for people old and young, the working class and business owners.

None of us benefit from private water, let’s change that now.

It's ABSURD that water is privatised.

As the BBC tries to spin water price rise in Scotland (whilst ignoring higher price in England), it's worth remembering that water is privatised in England, pays dividends to profiteers, and has a *dreadful* record on cleanliness and sewage dumping.

Where there is people, there is power.

Enough people want nationalised water in the UK, we have the power to take it back.
If you nationalise, YOU decide how much Water costs and where that money is spent.

If you keep it privatised you get robbed for whatever they feel like and you have almost no choice where the money goes.
