A Tomtit male in Riverhead Forest looking for his mates. These little birds have such a loud call for such a little bird. I sat for 40 mins listening and photographing these guys as they hung around in the same spot. I think there were 3-4 different birds in this area this day. #birds 🇳🇿📸🪶🦉

If cats did not exist I feel certain we would have invented them like unicorns and dragons. There's just an insatiable cat-shaped hole in the human psyche and we would've filled it one way or the other.
