I don't follow back everyone, but when I do it's not the 7567th account who has followed 40k & only followed by 100 that has "fallen on hard times" & whose replies to people are full of sus links pimping their go fund me. 🙄 In fact, those are an auto-block. Take your ass back to Twitter w/that shit.

v2.8.6 is live!

This version improves the initial loading UI - immediately showing a loading indicator, and animating in the feeds tab bar instead of flashing it in.

It also includes several bug fixes!

Does it strike anyone as weird that we have a ratings board that counts the number of times a movie says fuck or shows a boob and decides who is allowed to see it, and yet GenAI was dropped on the entire with no restrictions, no age verification, no checks, no regulation whatsoever?

This is how I got on the net before I could afford a computer.
WebTV (1995), later bought by Microsoft. It was the first major consumer device to access the web without a personal computer.

AI is a very general term, you have to be more specific. Do you mean the AI that stole my copyright, the chatbot causing teen suicide and psychosis, the deepfake porn of women without their consent, the bots driving political division or the ones polluting communities and driving electric bills up?

It’s always about dogs. How about cats? Oh right, dogs are *man’s* best friend. Cat ladies wait in line I guess
The first anti-aging pill for dogs just got FDA backing and is now closer to approval, which could help senior dogs stay healthier for longer.

Also true of articles! If your library doesn't have the periodical in question, they can get a copy for you via interlibrary loan (ILL).
Folks, if your library doesn’t have a book you want to read, ask them to buy a copy. Most have a convenient form and will let you know when it comes in. If your library offers ILL, they can even borrow books from other libraries.

The last political column I was allowed to write in the @washingtonpost.com was a criticism of Obama.

His people took issue with my piece, but we were respectful.

Now he is tweeting in support of me.

This is how free political speech and respect for debate *actually works*.

Or used to work.
