Wow — Senators Van Hollen, Smith, Murphy, Sanders, Warren, Markey, Merkley, Heinrich have created an official internal "Fight Club."

They're challenging Schumer & Gillibrand's leadership, arguing the party is using an old, corporate-friendly playbook insufficient to take on Trump or win elections.

A lot of fascinating stuff inside PRACTICE by Nazareth Hassan, now at Playwrights Horizons, including barn burner performances by some really exciting debuts, the best contemporary costume design I’ve seen since GIRLS, and a reminder that Alex Wyse is an excellent physical comedian. (1/?

Yep. Some go into journalism to have access to power, to be power's handmaiden & PR. Others go into journalism to question & illuminate the operation of power & how some norms/systems hurt the powerless. Wolff just 1 of many examples showing--again--the former is very common& usu far more lucrative.
Aside from every other repulsive thing about these Epstein emails, they offer direct confirmation of Michael Wolff as one of the sketchiest creeps in a teeming universe of gross behavior

AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH HELEN
Torrey Townsend's "Jewish Plot" has two more nights: tonight (Sunday) and tomorrow (Monday). It's the rare show where anything I say could undermine it; the tonal and structural switchbacks here are genuinely exhilarating & I don't want to ruin it for anyone who can get to Theatre 154 in time. OVER A MILLION USERS

DISCUSS SUICIDE WITH CHATGPT

EVERY *WEEK*

what the fuck are we DOING here
Panera’s moderately caffeinated lemonade was loosely associated with 2 deaths before it was taken off market.

This article alone has 4 examples of ChatGPT encouraging young people to commit suicide, and OpenAI’s own public stats estimate over a million users discuss suicide with ChatGPT each week.
I fully believe in the corporate death penalty and believe we would be a better world if OpenAI lost its corporate charter and was forcibly dissolved.

what came up recently is “Jason Biggs, from The Heidi Chronicles”
I think everybody has a “Wallace Shawn from Young Sheldon” — my first one would probably be “Vincent Price, the guy who did the voice of Ratigan in The Great Mouse Detective”

Just a little pop psychology today, I feel like we’ve conflated the “cringe” of enthusiasm with what actually makes most of us cringe, which is bad taste or a lack of taste at all. It’s not cringey when people are enthusiastic! the problem is being boring!
