Centrist Democrats are now scrambling to act as if they've always been against Israel's genocide in Gaza, despite several of them recently posing for a photo with Benjamin Netanyahu.

Zeteo's Frank Cappello returns as our (fake) centrist Democrat to imagine the deflections they would use.

my grand unifying theory is that we’re living thru the result of oligarchs turning the GOP into an authoritarian culture war that distracts from the class war & libs turning the Dem Party into an identitarian brunch club uninterested in the economic struggles of the working class

The good part of AI is that the only thing a writer can do to combat it is to become more human. Make your writing weirder, hornier, more violent, absurd, poetic, difficult, political, jagged, dreamlike, ironic, surreal, alive. You don't have any choice but to plumb the depths.

“Can’t a brother drop in to see his kid sister?” — actual dialogue in a movie I’m watching

I feel like if filmmaker can’t come up with a less clunky way to establish relationships they shouldn’t be making movies

Yes, I can absolutely believe that Tom Cruise is currently the same age Ian McKellen was when he started filming LOTR.

I’ve been observing gay aging for far too long to be shocked by this 😅

This is what I miss in action movies today. Enough with the hero being an expert at fighting and killing, turning movies into martial arts demo reels. Bring back the action heroes whose main ability is simply being stubborn as fuck.
Bring back the non-superhero, non-fighting machine badass, flawed hero that keeps getting knocked down and beat up for 3/4 of the story and whose main advantage over the bad guys is that they keep getting back up.
Best. Hangover. Ever.

Gavin Newsom has the exact appearance and energy of the mayor in an 80s crime film who winds up at the end of the movie saying “Good detective work, Sergeant Bolan … too good” and then pulling a pistol. This is also who he actually is down to his bones.

I don't think anyone is demanding that every person needs stacks of film, VHS, DVDs and Blurays but the fact is, owning physical media is the only way to guarantee access to what you wish to see in the future. We are seeing streaming getting yanked on a whim and it's only going to get worse.

RIP David Lynch. His version of Dune might be flawed, but it’s a visual triumph.

White of the Eye (1987) is an overlooked quasi-Giallo set in sun-drenched Arizona. It’s a slow burn that ramps up into a very suspenseful and unpredictable third act.

It’s fascinating revisiting films from the 90s that you watched a lot back then. The cinematography looks way better and you recognize way more of the actors besides the main stars.

Guys, I need you to stop calling Hans Gruber and his men terrorists. They're absolutely not. The *only* terrorists in all five Die Hard movies are the villains in DIE HARD 2. All the others are just thieves.
