In 2022, 42% of Texas state house Republicans (36) did not have an opponent. All those elections were “cancelled.”

In 2026, there won’t be a single uncontested race in Texas!

Why? Because @texasdemocrats are running for EVERY seat!

For the first time in decades.

HUGE.

After the Civil War, the government realized that in order to resist oligarchy, you needed an educated populace. The slave south was essentially an oligarchy with a powerful & wealthy planter class, an uneducated poor white class, and an enslaved class.

The war against education is no accident

i tell you what, if Democrats win the elections in 2026 and 2028, one of the biggest mistakes they could make is to talk about uniting the country by not prosecuting all of the lawbreakers and corruption of Trump administration officials. One reason we are here today is Ford's pardon of Nixon.

One-third of the energy now generated in Texas is from renewables like wind and solar. Without this clean energy, the grid in Texas would have failed multiple times and many people would have died. This is something Gov. Abbott and the GOP refuse to tell the public.

I want to take a moment to thank the entire Elias Law Group team who worked on the Texas redistricting case as well as our fearless clients. The thirteen Black and Latino voters we represented stood up to challenge Texas's unprecedented mid-decade redistricting. We all ow them a debt of gratitude.

One significant way to fix the federal deficit? Dramatically raise the minimum wage across our country. It will cause an increase in tax collections, much less people on federal assistance, and health outcomes will improve causing less reliance on federal health programs.

Day 24 of Emmanuel Garcia being in federal custody.

He’s a 15 year old autistic boy who went missing 4 weeks ago. Houston PD found him, contacted ICE & his Mom is fighting to get him back

She’s not allowed to visit him.

They’re keeping a disabled kid from his family & the media is largely silent

If SNAP benefits vanished tomorrow, feeding 42 million Americans for a month would cost about $7.8 billion. That’s less than 1% of the combined net worth of the three richest men in the U.S. A reminder of how obscene inequality has become and how easily hunger could be solved if we chose to.

Annnnddddd folks pay taxes. Those taxes go towards helping the citizens of the government. We’re using services that we pay for. It’s odd that folks believe the government has the right to just take those services away.
Having some weird fucking superiority complex that people shouldn’t rely on the government is fucking INSANE. The government is supposed to do everything in its power to help its people. That’s the ENTIRE POINT of the fucking government and I’m fucking sick of people acting like it’s not.

With millions at risk of losing SNAP in the coming days, a reminder: hunger doesn't happen in isolation. When food assistance disappears, families use rent money to eat. Then come evictions and homelessness.

Housing, food, healthcare—it's all connected. Cut one thread and the whole thing unravels.

Starting November 1st, SNAP benefits are being cut, leaving millions of people with limited or no access to food.

If you are able to help, help. Food banks also take cash donations, which allow them to fill the banks with what they know is most needed.

We are truly all we have.

Abbott cares about Abbott and power. That's it.
“The ousting comes amid a critical dispute within academia about how to rebuild confidence in higher education in a politically polarized moment.”

This is such a tortured story frame it is functionally a lie. Greg Abbott is not trying to rebuild confidence, he is proudly conducting a purge.
