An essential development over the past decade-plus is that the ignorant went from feeling chastened when their ignorance was revealed to banding together and deciding that, actually, they were right. They might disagree at times, but they agreed that ignorance itself was an indicator of trust.

They gave that Pop Tart the ass of a Pixar mom. On purpose. That's part of the costume.

Troubling lore implications.

I heard an anecdote about how when Frank Sinatra was first starting out, he performed under a stage name. When he told his manager he wanted to perform under his given name, the manager said he'd never make it because " No one wants to listen to n*****r music."

FYI, if you're outside the US, you can come here and just collect $3,000
Kristi Noem makes an announcement on Fox & Friends: "We are saying that if you voluntarily want to go home now to your country, if you're in the US illegally, we'll give you $3,000 through the holidays to send you home. We'll buy you a ticket, give you $3,000 to go home."

Just in my lifetime we've slid from:
"just the facts ma'am."
to "fuck your feelings."
to "facts are tricky, let's just do stuff based on what we feel SHOULD be true."
to "I invented a robot that says 'very insightful' every time you delude yourself! To deny its rise is punishable by gov't torture."

One thing I don't think people appreciate is that the political apparatus is so old that dozens of congress people and senators have weekly doctors visits and require non stop care just to stay alive and it 100% limits the potential for political action through the legislature.
