All is not well at Kent County Council (KCC). Reform UK, having taken charge at KCC...

...are now faced with exactly the same problems as their Conservative predecessors; funding social care, funding Special Educational Needs (SEN), and fixing potholes.
Are standards of civility falling at Reform Kent County Council?

I wish I didn’t have to share this. But the BBC has decided to censor my first Reith Lecture.

They deleted the line in which I describe Donald Trump as “the most openly corrupt president in American history.” /1

Nearly two years ago, I wrote about the extraordinary influence of former Tory spin doctor Sir Robbie Gibb on the BBC. It's still a helpful backgrounder for what's going on now. New readers start here: www.prospectmagazine.co.uk/ideas/media/...

Can't believe there are conversations about ending the BBC. This is like listening to a family calmly discussing whether to shoot it's dog, or burn down the house.

You may have missed this gem yesterday. From which we learn that:

1. Betting shops are really good for the mental health of isolated people.
2. Most drug-takers are not a problem.
3. Kids put tuppence in slot machines in the hope of getting rich.
4. Farage probably has a gambling industry donor.

I had my disagreements with the BBC under Tim Davie but he was a decent man doing a difficult job.

To see Trump's White House claiming credit for his downfall and attacking the BBC should worry us all.

Oh dear. Has Reform UK Nottinghamshire been using ChatGPT to write its posts?

The County Council has nothing to do with housing repairs, that’s currently District, Borough or Unitary councils, nor does the County Council have any jurisdiction over the City.

Best check next time.
