What did my bio say on that old site? I forget. Something about being a fat queer fortysomething neurodivergent nonbinary spiritual seeker, writer, sometime musician, and current law clerk, PhD, JD, I think.
Am i the only person who thinks the release of those files is going to have absolutely no material impact bc america loves rape

The nyt is doing to Mamdani what it’s done to trans ppl: Waging a dishonest activist campaign in support of a right-wing goal, all the while disguising it as journalism.

“Chris Smalls is still in Givon Prison and despite repeated requests to meet with the U.S. Embassy has been ignored by his country after being abducted by the IOF in international waters.”

It is so depressing that it is a bigger scandal in US politics to say "Globalize the Intifada" than to starve tens of thousands of people to death on purpose.

My brain is so tired from all the overtime lately that the filter preventing me from saying aloud the absolute worst puns ever and breaking into song every few minutes is completely gone.

While I guess it’s good that the NYT will publish an “opinion piece” like this every few months I’d prefer if their news articles on the matter weren’t generally “Mysterious Bullets In Palestinians Seeking Aid Defy Explanation”

This article is the one that probably comes closest to my own thoughts at this point in time, not only in the current action in Gaza but the long-term implications for Israel. It's written by a Israeli-American and a professor of genocide studies.

Gift article.

This is really REALLY worth reading and confirms something I’ve been thinking: if all the media & government putting pressure on individual people to curb their carbon footprint instead publicly pressured the big companies (and put sensible legislation in place) we’d be much better off.
Glad you asked!

“Individual carbon footprint" was invented by oil companies.

I'm serious.

Amazing how trans people are simultaneously too small a cohort to be worth defending and so large a group that if we refuse to vote for people who won't support our rights, it's our fault if Republicans win.

Mask bans accelerate authoritarianism.

Everyone has a right to protect their health, and masks are one of the most effective tools against disease spread and air pollution.

Banning people from using tools that protect their health is a violation of human rights.

BREAKING: Emails given to Congress by DOJ whistleblower reveal new details about the Abrego Garcia fiasco. They show how Trump officials searched for ways to paint him as a dangerous criminal and gang "leader" and couldn't find any. But smears continued.

yeah this one is very bad rn. it's not funny or cute or "wow, these guys are wild" that there's a concentration camp in Florida. it's a horror. It's "the concentration camp at Dade-Collier Training and Transition Airport," but all major news outlets are going with "Alligator Alcatraz" in quotes.
One of the most frustrating things about this era, they will mock the dumb administration talking points all day but they will not fail to report on them and use the language the administration prefers. It's happening again with the concentration camp in Florida. They refuse to not use the name.

Between the latest Mamdani story and the Harris stuff, we have learned that American columnists cannot be normal around a diverse world full of people with different, intermingled backgrounds. Also for some reason South Asian people are getting hit by this a lot.
