"High floor, no ceiling" isn't meant to be persuasive to voters, it's meant for donors, and I assume Jeffries, whose job functions partly by being able to direct donor money to favored and against unfavored candidates, knows that.

I'm not even trying to be some jingoist here, like I'd like to visit china or whatever, but I feel like emphasizing that restaurant prices are lower for people who make less money and that bags are not immediately stolen out from under you, it's just a bit much

Yup. It's amazing how many "Progressives" will spout fascist rhetoric about other minorities, especially trans people. They're "progressive" until they ignore or go against the research that supports trans kids, immigration, or outright put Palestine above all other Progressive principles.

For years, McDonald's would run a "Holiday Film Fest" with cheap vhs tapes... the 1994 batch featured Field of Dreams, Land Before Time, Back to the Future & Fievel Goes West. If you grew up with all of these tapes, I bet this was why.

Tangential but the fact that Anjali had to add this explanation for her original post is a great case in point about why learning to *read* isn’t just about being being able to sound out words but also contextualize and the diminishment of this skill is part of the literacy crisis
A lot of people are pointing out that this guy is no prince among men and that JPMorgan Chase has done some stuff, and right—that’s what makes it so notable that this guy thinks there will be accountability for this stuff in the future. He believes this is the *strategic* choice. That’s revealing.
