Leading industry figure gets the very vocal ick from art for adults but not Microsoft’s genocide complicity is great representation of the video game problem.

Listen this is Valve's first rodeo. They're just an independent company. They can't afford to look into every single little tiny thing they have going on! It's why Gabe bought a $500m yacht -- he needs quiet space out on the open seas to hunker down and focus on running his small business.

If you're trying to ditch NYT Games, which you should be since their games singlehandedly prop up the entire dogshit rag financially, you should switch to Puzzmo. An annual sub is 50% off today for a crazy $19 and as a bonus doesn't enable the genocides of Palestinians and trans people
Puzzmo — The (new) place for thoughtful puzzles.
Re-imagined mainstays like the daily Crossword Puzzle, modern classics like Really Bad Chess and SpellTower, and even a few brand new puzzles.

Everyone talking about a conspiracy to have NFL refs cost the Chiefs a playoff berth this year and I have to say I hope it’s true. I hope they are conspiring to do this it would be fucking awesome.

I have not played (nor plan on playing) E33 but the sentiment at the end is here speaks to me. I’m down to feel the wide spectrum of emotions while experiencing a story but if the end is just gonna make me feel empty and hopeless, I’m probably gonna regret my time spent with it.
Maybe if I got some message or insight into the human condition out of it I'd be down with those endings. But I didn't. THAT part felt amateur. If a story is gonna make me depressed and miserable then it had damn well better be one of the best and most insightful stories ever told. That, it wasn't

turning a big dial taht says "Censorship" on it and constantly looking back at the audience for approval like a contestant on The Price is Right
seeing people being like "ehhh Idkkkkk horses DOES sound kinda icky, I get why it was banned" like barely 2 months after a bunch of people kicked up the wildest possible hostile campagn against _itch_ makes me feel like I'm losing my mind lol

The most interesting thing about the Nuzziverse is how every single murdered and maimed journalist over the last few years is vastly more capable and worthwhile than any of these slimeballs and i refuse to learn another thing about any of them.

One thing I think is worth thinking about or at least keeping in the back of your head:

If Steam were the only store in town (rather than simply "the biggest" which already has make-or-break compatibility), this game would not come out -at all-.

I can't believe there are still people working in the game's media that seem to believe in "objectively reviewing" a game.

Good gravy, this is why people don't take this space seriously.

I encourage you to read her full comments, not because they exculpatory — they absolutely are not — but because they're dangerously close to self awareness about the trap that hasbarists find themselves in.

America's first ever esports champion was Rebecca Heineman, a trans woman. She went on to found some of your favorite video game studios and worked on your favorite video games. Next time you see somebody rail about 'woke' and 'DEI'
Remember that.
Remember her.

I mean, yeah, a lot of people care about TGAs but that doesn’t mean it needs to DEFINE the medium moving forward. That is entirely up to how you want to talk about/play video games. Believe it or not, I think it’s entirely possible to ignore it, something I’ve decided to do the day of the show!

AYYYY TALL TRAILS
Summitsphere reached out to confirm ANTONBLAST was not a solo developed game. We apologize for the misunderstanding and can't wait to include such a great indie in the Steam event.

We do have updated category. Join us in congratulating @bradysoglin.bsky.social on his nomination for Tall Trails!

I don’t care if at some point it makes me sound old and grumpy, but I will never accept gen AI becoming a thing and if I know you make anything with gen AI, I will consider you an absolutely useless dork

We don’t use generative AI at Strange Scaffold and I can confirm that a *lot* of other studios are not—whether indie or AAA.

Get outta here with this normalization bullshit.

Sure, every* game company** is using AI... but using it well? Is it actually helping with ANYthing? Or is it driven by a need to have AI deliver early on the promise of substituting for human labour because there's no other problem it solves?
