I'm sorry, but there is no reason to believe that the scales have fallen from the public's eyes, and they suddenly see the contradictions inherent in the system, etc., at the same time the public has also, for instance, embraced far-right and far-left populism worldwide. This is wishful thinking.

It’s very, very important that your political model and epistemological framework account for the possibility that SOMETIMES MOST PEOPLE ARE WRONG, and have explanations for why that can happen. Otherwise you’re going to end up somewhere very dark eventually.

A woman with a family connection to White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt has been arrested by Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents in Revere, Massachusetts.
The woman, Bruna Ferreira, has an 11-year-old son with Michael Leavitt, Karoline Leavitt's brother.
Ferreira migrated with her family to the United States from Brazil as a child and is currently in custody at an ICE facility in southern Louisiana.

The individual identified as the suspect in the National Guard shooting applied for asylum in 2024 and was granted asylum in April 2025. The Trump administration was in office when the asylum was approved. via CNN/ABC NEWS
