Do yourself a favour and watch James Whale’s The Invisible Man.
The sfx still hold up admirably but the greatest special effect is Rains’ truly demented & disturbing performance as Jack Griffin, relying almost totally on that wonderful voice…

Love listening to my kid practicing piano. Kind of practice vicariously in my head and reap the rewards of the vibration. Worth nagging him to do it every time

Women didn’t ruin the workplace. Capitalism did
When your debate centers on whether women should exist in public, you’ve already lost.

This was really good. It makes clear what the discussion made muddy — that feminism is conveniently used as synonym for women (and woke) — and contextualized the egregiousness of the conversation too, ie during a full out assault on women’s rights and dignity

Russell Brand praising her for taking the discursive pov of “nut jobs” to more respectable grift sphere is quite a moment in this piece.
Cheryl Hines—who has mostly steered clear of RFK’s antivaxx world—headlined a weekend gala for Children’s Health Defense. At the private party, which I watched from the back of the room, she praised CHD and hawked her book— proceeds which were promised to CHD. www.msnbc.com/news/news-an...
Does Cheryl Hines share husband RFK Jr.’s vaccine views? Now we know the answer.
The actress finally steps out as first lady of the anti-vaccine movement.

Obviously you can take issue with why the Times is covering an illegitimate smear campaign against a children's entertainer in the first place. But as long as the story is running, actually putting every claim to her is good!
