Rounds: Senator Shaheen mentioned that Secretary Rubio did make a phone call to us this afternoon. I think he made it very clear that we are the recipients of a proposal that was delivered to one of our representatives. It is not our recommendation. It is not our peace plan.

Pretty obvious what happened

Team Trump, high on their own supply and sympathetic to Russia, thought they could make Ukraine surrender and declare Trump a glorious peacemaker.

Then they got out of their bubble into reality, embarrassingly flopped, and are now scrambling to lie trying to save face.

I used to handle interlibrary loans for a public library. ILL is a magnificent expression of the idea that readers deserve books, and books deserve readers. It’s libraries everywhere pooling their resources for the benefit of everyone.

Killing IMLS could have killed ILL.

This is great news. 📚

Will never forget that day 62 yrs ago. I was a sophomore in high school. Pandemonium broke out when it came over the public address, crying, fainting. My father later drove me and 3-4 siblings from NJ down to DC for the funeral. We walked past the casket. Somber, silent. www.pbs.org/newshour/sho...

We can disagree and argue, but these kinds of threats are simply unacceptable.

Btw, I do hope people understand what they have seen today. It was a well-planned and deliberate ambush of Ukraine by Trump, to force the Ukrainians to bend the knee to Putin's dictatorship. It was not slip-shod, rushed, impulsive or an accident. It was prepared malice.

The US is extorting Zelenskyy to sign away territory Russia doesn't even hold, as well as Ukraine's ability to defend itself, on the basis of Putin's word he'll honor a peace and Trump's word the US will make him.
