While I appreciate the tongue in cheek comparisons to Palpatine’s attainment of power due to the fabricated trade wars from the Star Wars prequels, I feel they are a tad off base as his true accession was due to him spinning a misconstrued and exaggerated assassin attempt by…oh, oh wait…

I'm all for plot twists in fiction but nobody signed up for Terminator and Star Wars to become real life issues, especially -without- time travel and Jedi.

I think a big difference between what’s happening now and the Star Wars prequels is our version of the Sith outright let us know over and over again “We are evil people here to make things bad for most of you but better for us” beforehand and millions of people still voted for them.
