I live in the borders between. Total nerd & crackpot. Musician (electric harp, synth, etc.) interested in too many things: food, drink, nature, astronomy, history, languages, anthro-archaeo-paleontologies, movies (SFF-horror-comedy-arthouse), books, etc.!

A harp has strings. A harmonica does not. Sometimes slang is stupid.
The leather bondage carriage is rather remarkable. The judge likes to get his freak on. #FolkHorrorFriday

This was my introduction to the podcast, and I was honestly bowled over by the perceptive and incisive discussion. It’s one of the best film criticism shows I’ve ever heard. And I don’t say that just because we’re 100% in accord re: the demon puppet, right down to the words we use to describe it. 😏
Join me and @grumpyandrew.bsky.social as we pass each other the runes and invoke Jacques Tourneur's NIGHT OF THE DEMON (1957) for the series-finale episode of The Thriller Cabinet Podcast.

Sharing to watch later!
This quite haunted me when it first came out, and though eccentrically made almost beyond the point of reason, those summer hedgerows in sunken lanes was the first time I'd had such an impression mirrored by a TV show.
Reposting for #folkyfriday

West Country Tales was a supernatural drama series based on real-life experiences sent in after a BBC appeal. Many #folklore elements here! Not all episodes are on YouTube unfortunately

Reading Jeffrey Epstein's own words about his buddy Donald is genuinely bone chilling. Just how evil do you have to be to cause a man like Epstein to say you're "evil beyond belief"?
And what is in those files, man?
If **Jeffrey Epstein** thinks you're a evil and demented sociopath, the odds are overwhelming that you are, in fact, an evil and demented sociopath.

The article is paywalled, so I can’t read it. However, the blurb extracted below makes reposting this both worthwhile and necessary (at least as far as I’m concerned).
The Epstein emails are a “skeleton key” for understanding a culture “in which the wealthy and powerful appear not as master operators but as bumbling sycophants, eager to cozy up to influence no matter how villainous or depraved,” @cwarzel.bsky.social argues.

13) Sword & Soul speaks to a genuine need.

Readers do not need heroes they identify with, they need heroes that resonate with them. Charles Saunders' audience with his Imaro novels appeal to people regardless of race, because the stories are novel & well-written, and the challenges exciting.

Once the Future King was a Queen.

“Hatshepsut, meaning “the Foremost of Noble Women,” an Egyptian king of the Eighteenth Dynasty who ruled during the fifteenth century bc and negotiated a path from the royal nursery to the very pinnacle of authority.”

Pippa Durham, 38, was looking forward to a new six-part series billed as a bodice-ripping retelling of the Dissolution of the Monasteries. However, she spotted a 20th-century doorknob in the background of one of the shots and has been livid ever since.

hm sounds like it’s time for some journalists to make some requests because I for one would like more information on Sarah Kendzior’s suspension.
We usually do that in response to media requests once they hit that threshold. I’ll try not to weigh in here, since that’s still details of an individual case. An interesting topic for a separate write up though, without discussing case specifics.
