There is a push among some orgs, "moderate" legislators, and even trans people to "give up the sports issue" in hopes that will stop hate.
I have watched moderates try this in 23 state houses.
It doesn't work. There is no amount of give you can offer that will stop them from taking.

One of the consequences of the trans legislative & healthcare crisis is that many binary, white, & neurotypical trans folks who've been quietly transmedicalists, racists, & ableists are going to sprint to the nearest bigot to prove they're a good one & deserve rights, unlike the rest of us freaks.
