Rob Reiner made some great movies but he was also unafraid to speak the truth, and was one of the public voices who knew you don’t squander your platform, and only got louder about opposing evil fucks as he got older. Legend.

Trinity could’ve just left and the league wouldn’t have made any changes. I appreciate that she wants to stay and also wants to fight for more for herself and all the players.

Hey so measuring if a player qualifies for a top salary by “marketability” is basically a racist beauty standards for femme girls who speak English contest.

Marketability will always be a factor, but making it a required benchmark is going to exclude talented players that deserve to get paid.

Again, as a reminder, Naomi Girma wasn't even nominated for a BDO the year she won a Shield and a gold medal while playing every minute. She'd qualify because she's a US player, but we haven't dealt with our biases enough to tie people's salaries to this. Ion like it.

Yeah, man. Marketability is directly affected by our biases. Especially racism/colorism/featurism. We gotta be honest about these things even when a higher potential salary isn't tied to it. The fact that a higher salary is tied to it isn't great. That 2020 work folks were supposed to do, get to it.

The NWSL has now essentially created three classes of players:
*Salary cap exempt players on minimum salary
*Regularly paid players
*High Impact players

As Tobin said, “this creates a massive chasm.”

And it’s gross

The creation of a new rule still doesn’t erase that Berman tampered with a fully valid contract proposal that the team and player had both agreed to, and I hope the PA doesn’t drop the grievance for that

Wow. This is a stunning “roll tape” moment. Even Noem’s plastic face had to crack on this one.
Magaziner: How many US military veterans have you deported?

Noem: We have not deported military veterans.

Magaziner: We are joined on zoom by a gentleman who is an army combat veteran who was shot twice while serving our country. You deported him to Korea.

1. approve the contract that the spirit and trin already agreed to
2. accelerate the raising of the cap

those are easy "wins" for the league office right now.......that still don't address everything but buys some "goodwill". good grief, stevie wonder could see that

The league is actively expanding. They’re courting investors and advertisers on the premise of the league as a worthy investment.

At the same time, they’re telling the NWSLPA that it’s unreasonable to assume the next media deal can provide the revenue for Trinity Rodman’s proposed contract.

It feels cruel to be forcing her away from her home and her team based solely on Jessica Berman and whatever delusions spoke to her and told her to deny the contract
Trin wants to stay, her team and the Spirit found a way, and the league said lol nope. It's all making me lose my mind!!!

As much as I would hate this, shove this in Jessica Berman’s face. This entire thing is of her doing(with backing of certain owners who don’t want to put in the work). By rejecting the deal, they will loose any and ALL talent that ever gets developed here& NWSL just becomes the farm teams for Europe
at this point trin should just go to europe. the message will be that she got too big for the league and they weren't committed enough to grow with her. good luck convincing broadcast partners to give you more money when they know your most marketable stars can easily outgrow the league.

If Trin is going to be forced out of the league she absolutely should drag Berman and all the other owners who are advocating to underpay women down with her. Make them look stupid, keep pointing out how this is their fault.

She clearly wants to stay and the league won’t let her for the salary she deserves. Dont give me she wants to go to Europe now bc that’s clearly not the case.
