Headed to the Washington Spirit NWSL semifinal this Saturday?

Don't stress about finding a dock! We’re hosting a CaBi bike valet at the Potomac Ave & Half St SW station to provide parking relief for fans.

This week I wrote about the rise of the e-bike dad - this piece was originally going to run alongside the story I did in September about the bike boom in general, and we didn't have space in print, but here it is:

Remember all the hype about how Uber and Lyft would allow people to live car-free?

Well, it turns out ridehail has no discernible impact on car ownership at all.

Actually, the way the whole government is being personalized is perfectly epitomized by the way they took a public space used for all kinds of free expression and turned it into construction staging with no notice.

Things change fast folks.

I've heard from several sources air traffic control staffing at #DCA is going down to one — yes, one — controller this evening. Expect significant flight delays and maybe cancellations tonight.

@washprobs.bsky.social #washingtondc
US airlines cancelled 780 flights, or 3% of total scheduled, on Friday, Nov. 7, the first day of the FAA’s shutdown-related flight cuts. Cuts will step up to 10% of flights at 40 key airports over the next week.

Safe travels everyone.
