I'm with @dawngilbertson.bsky.social that small airports are awesome.

But my love is split between the ease of use and the fact that most of the time you get to walk on the ramp to board a flight.

A Denver City Council committee on Dec. 17 appointed a project manager for the $700mn, 11-gate western extension (plus a new outdoor patio) of Concourse C at Denver Airport.

Who will use the gates? "We have a waiting list for gates, for these 11 gates," said DEN CEO Phil Washington.

Timing TBD.

congrats to Manhattan

almost every American urban core would benefit even more, if only they could overcome the political power of the larger proportion of drivers commuting into their city
Year 1 data on congestion pricing in Manhattan…

* Vehicle traffic: -11%
* Foot traffic: +3.4%
* Storefront vacancy: -0.9%
* Pollution: -22%
* Revenue for mass transit: $548M

So YES this has been a huge success.

This explains why Virginia's railroads do not radiate out from DC.

They were built to funnel goods to Virginia ports, ie Hampton Roads.
Virginia’s antebellum rail network was built to connect the state’s hinterland to its own ports
Rail took a while to reach Northern Virginia. The railroad first reached Washington, DC in 1835, but it would be another twenty-six years before the line was extended across the Potomac.
