I made a Snow Mann at Constitution Gardens back in Snowpocalypse 2010. Maybe Jack can recreate this picture on Sunday.

In a long, scathing interview, a member of the DC National Guard accuses the Trump administration of "parading [us] around to intimidate people." He talks candidly about what his deployment has been like.

Because we don’t have a car we don’t have to worry about digging our car out of 2 feet of snow

Should I message the absentee developers of the vacant property next door and offer to shovel their section of sidewalk (that I’d have to walk on anyway) on Sunday if they Venmo me $50?

Aurora a good bet this evening - look as soon as it gets dark.

At KP9, aurora is often viewable around DC even with urban lights.

Although aurora may be visible to the naked eye in such an intense event, cell phone cameras and other long-exposure photography will capture it more strongly.

Brian when we left: how did it make you feel?

Me: it’s kind of like seeing the Great Barrier Reef — I’m glad I saw it while I still could?
Went to Archives today for the first time in - what - 15 years? - and I dunno, what a weird time to go.

We’ve been practicing independent life skills with our (nearly) 7 year old and today he 1) shopped at the grocery store by himself for a specific list while I waited by the checkout and 2) walked home himself on the other side of the street while we walked parallel.

Bar Pilar was my spot years and years ago.

One Valentine’s Day I didn’t have a date so I brought a book and read at the bar here and I wasn’t the only one!
Damn-After nearly 21 years (opened iMarch 2005, though there has been ownership change since), 14th Street stalwart Bar Pilar is closing Saturday because they can’t afford to pay their Covid deferred back rent.

Prob first grown-up bar in DC I went to, felt edge of DC nightlife
