I don’t know why the weather this winter is making me feel wanna-flip-a-table unhinged. We’ve had cold, snowy winters before. But I guess in my 40s I simply Cannot Handle It.

These declines are MASSIVE.

And the comparative silence in media coverage is absolutely DAMNING.

“Why are ppl always so afraid of crime?”

THIS is why. When crime goes up, media trips over itself to report it.

Falls to pre-war (!!) levels? Just CRICKETS.
I count 10 cities in 2025 that are on track to have the fewest murders since at least 1970. Newark is on pace to have the fewest murders since 1956 (though only have data through Oct this year) and San Francisco is on pace to have the fewest murders since 1942.

Movie you’ve watched more than six times with a gif. Hard mode: no Stars (Wars nor Trek), LOTR, or Marvel, Disney Animated or Pixar.

Are night terrors a perimenopause symptom or has living alone for so long finally broken my brain? 🤷🏻‍♀️

We are literally mad about your failure to fight the real dangers.
But there are real dangers out there that must be fought; and energy spent fighting each other is energy lost to that bigger fight.

American politics makes a lot more sense when you realize that the GOP is afraid of pissing off the GOP base, and the Dems are afraid of pissing off the GOP base, but neither party is afraid of pissing off the Dem base.

If Democratic politicians do not fight this because it's a "distraction," it will simply happen. They need to get in front of every mic and say that we will not allow Trump to destroy American history. He wants a culture war? GIVE HIM ONE. There are no distractions. Have every fight.

There’s a political project to kill the humanities. People who don’t know how to read don’t know how to ask questions, or imagine and communicate new ideas, or evaluate anything without a yes/no answer. It’s that simple.
This isn’t an impoverished regional school – this is the University of Chicago. Devastating.

ACLU of RI, GLAD Law, and RI Center for Justice respond to Brown’s anti-transgender agreement with Trump

"It is shocking that an institution that has long welcomed, celebrated, and protected LGBTQ+ people on campus would so quickly cave in to the administration’s cruel and coercive agenda."

I wonder if there’s a connection between being a third generation eldest daughter and having endometriosis. 🤔

When ICE agents look like this, it is ENTIRELY APPROPRIATE for state and local law enforcement to step in and demand they identify themselves and show judicial warrants before detaining anyone from an immigration court.

Democratic mayor and governors can take action on this.
