ICE stood by its promise of targeting the worst of the worst.

The only difference is that they meant in terms of who to hire, not who to arrest.

Actually I'm not 100% anti-AI. I think that AI has a lot of promise in specialty applications used by specialists.

I think that large language models in general use by the public is not really a good thing for a variety of reasons.

19 Dec 2025 @rikiwilchins.bsky.social -- With Reps allowing tens of millions to lose their Obamacare subsidies &/or medical insurance, Reps are moving heaven and earth to change the national health conversation to a handful of trans kids getting safe recommended medical care. Won't wash.
Republicans are trying to change the subject on health care affordability — to transgender care
In a spate of votes and announcements, the GOP is tacking hard to an issue where the party sees an advantage.

McGovern: "The reality is that some people's premiums are going up 100%, and their big grand plan is to give people an 11% coupon. I mean, this is laughable. It is pathetic ... they are unbelievably out of touch. Republicans have spent a year screwing over the people they represent."

When Trump dies-- could be at any point, who knows -- we get Vance.

They'll blame a lot of stuff on Trump AND try to fast-track an even uglier Christofascism.

We must be preparing for this now & organizing accordingly.

📌ATTENTION MSM: NO interview starts with ANY Republican without making them account for this grotesque statement from the clearly deranged and vengeful President of the United States of America.
Folo-up question: How long will you continue to cover for this very, very sick and vulgar man?

THIS👇 Times a bazillion!
I'm not even going to repost a screengrab of his post about Rob Reiner but man it really needs to be said every single day: Trump truly is the biggest piece of shit in the world, a man of absolutely no good qualities and seemingly limitless bad ones. Support for him is just so damning.

Folks like "I'm agreeing with Rand Paul" and feeling weird about it should reframe.

Rand Paul is agreeing with you. About one, maybe two, possibly a handful of things.

Rand Paul is a stopped clock and still a self-centered destructive shit but sometimes possibly useful. Also still a bad person.

Heartbreaking and horrifying to go to bed reading about the mass shooting at Brown University and wake up to read about the mass shooting at a Hanukkah celebration at Bondi Beach. Thinking of the victims, their loved ones, and those affected by the hate that drove these attacks.

There’s money for ICE

There’s money to build detention camps.

There’s money for Argentina.

There’s money to invade Venezuela.

But we’re supposed to believe there’s no money for healthcare, housing & food?

Suffering is a policy choice.

This is a concise and understandable point- all of the AI "intelligence" comes from prior, human works.
I said it before, will say it again -- generative AI fetishizes "ideas" while sneering at effort, execution, and education. That, despite Gen-AI being built on and out of other people's effort, execution and education.
A.I. and the Fetishization Of Ideas
In writing and in dispensing my (very dubious, probably shady) writing advice, I am often keen to note that ideas are bullshit. Most writers treat them like precious gems when really, ideas are lik…

The ACA mandates that all health insurance plans must cover all vaccines recommended by the CDC Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices (ACIP).

So what happens when they're no longer recommended is they're no longer required to be covered.

Other rules elsewhere are also tied to ACIP.

Someday this cruelty will be reversed for Rachel Levine. It will be covered as a touching moment, a "correction" of an injustice. People will expect her to be grateful. Fuck that. The expectation of easy forgiveness & the shaming of rage at injustice is what brings us back to this awful place
