The one distant snowy owl photo our group got (photo cred to my friend Tom for this one!). You can see how difficult they can be to spot in this landscape, especially at a distance and with this landscape in all directions! 🪶🌿

Back at Parker River, MA today and finally got my lifer snowy owl!!!!!!! It was a distant scope sighting so no photos, but winter isn’t over yet…

fellow birders, some ID advice would be appreciated! found this american coot in California; we usually have red-shielded coots here, but this one appears to be white-shielded. just want to make sure my ID is correct before I submit since eBird flags it as pretty rare

I'm gonna just stick to the Birds feed today, step away from the firehose of stressful news. If anyone else is overwhelmed with all that's happening all the time, I suggest finding a dedicated space for something that centers you, and taking a breather.

This week I completed a successful trip out to sea! This was my 8th trip so far & my 1st without my PI 🦑🧪
Between offshore work, my proposal defense, a Florida trip, presenting in Hawaii, NSF NRT work, & wrapping up the semester, it’s been a busy 1.5 months 😅 off to SoCal to relax (& go birding 🪶)!
