Some of us have been saying this since 2020 and even before: Dems should make corruption *the* central issue in US politics and public life and go on the offensive against GOP/MAGA/Trump transparent and hypocritical corruption and grifting. Most voters hate corruption.

Me: BATMAN BEGINS is great, but I was amused by the writers’-fiat plot device that a place can be SO corrupt that some reasonably-organized foreign actor can just puppeteer it on a whim.

We as a country will save nothing. Federal employee salaries make up just 4% of the budget—roughly $271 billion. So even if every federal worker were fired, that’s the maximum you’d save. Meanwhile, the U.S. House GOP has released a budget that raises the debt limit by $4 trillion.

This.
If you support any of this, you’re honestly just a terrible person. People’s lives are being upended and destroyed. For every 1% increase in unemployment, 40,000 people die—yet some are celebrating.

Musk has made over $25,000,000,000 from tax breaks, subsidies and government contracts. That’s $25 Billion we as taxpayers have both given him directly and had to compensate for. You care about the deficit? Great! Give us our fucking money back.
