Brooklyn Park police chief Mark Bruley: "We're hearing people being stopped with no cause & being demanded to show paperwork to determine if they're here legally. We started hearing from our police officers the same complaints. Every one of these individuals is a person of color... it has to stop"

I have noticed a disturbing number of calls for violence against ICE agents. One word:

DON'T!

Around the world, dictators WANT violence because it provides cover for them to launch massive militarized retaliation. Dictators even stage false-flag operations to provide themselves with an excuse.

When Uecker died I got asked about his politics a lot. I don't know. I only met him once, for a few seconds. But he was close to Henry Aaron, Bob Gibson, & Willie Mays; someone he loved very much is gay; & he did a lot of good stuff that's never talked about. He was a good person.

Investigate and prosecute political opponents, sell pardons to your rich friends so they can commit crimes with impunity. Authoritarianism isn’t coming, it’s here, whether people realize it or not.

Russ Vought set out to ensure a second Trump term would not be hampered by checks and balances:

“I don’t want President Trump having to lose a moment of time having fights in the Oval Office about whether something is legal or doable or moral.”

When you succumb to the cynicism, you are helping Trump. He wants you to think that all is lost, that he is all powerful, and that there is nothing we can do.

The fight for democracy is hard, but it is worth having. We have shown we can stand tall. We have shown we can win.
Many of you have become drama-addicted doomers, and you seem to think it's important for the rest of us to join you.

Yes, things are bad. But change is within our power. Grow up. Act like sober, responsible adults in a democracy instead of cynical, all-is-lost teenagers.

Now get off my lawn.

Fox News’ mission has been to make $$ by reinforcing the paranoia of bigoted white people. But there used to be a few places even they would not go. With their outrageous Minneapolis lies, however, I think they’re trying to solidify their role as official state media in the emerging dictatorship.

Prison guards are flocking to ICE jobs and frankly this makes sense. Those of us who have been anti-prison organizers for decades have been saying that fascism already existed within prisons/jails. Our best teachers for how to survive fascism are incarcerated people.

Trump’s Venezuela incursion has injected a volatile foreign conflict into a political environment defined by voter anxiety over high prices and a softening job market.
Trump Is Turning to Venezuela but Voters Are Focused on the Economy
The president’s move against Venezuela comes as high prices and economic unease continue to shape the midterm landscape.

The death toll from the attack on Venezuela is now at 80, per Venezuelan officials. That includes civilians. Every article about the attack, or how the US somehow claims it will run the country, should mention the fact that, you know, people died, including civilians. www.nytimes.com/live/2026/01...

The two best normalizers of Trump fascism are the mainstream media and the leaders of the Democratic Party
So many years of Schumer saying stuff like "my colleagues on the other side of the aisle are being less than forthright....". And when Trump started his 2nd term by shredding the Constitution, Democratic leadership's response was "don't let him distract you, focus on the price of eggs".

Capital decides elections because Americans are so intellectually passive & lazy, they get persuaded by TV ads and lies and bullshit.

NYC proved that people can get past the lies. It is possible. Maybe not in the South.

But the truth is, the point of the money is to buy votes
