President Trump will stop at nothing to force kids across America to go hungry. This is sickening—and illegal.

Trump & his cronies are using hungry families as political bargaining chips. Democrats will fight back.

It's International Day of Persons with Disabilities. As we work to advance the rights of people with disabilities, Trump is trying to gut their educational protections and limit their access to health care. We can't let that happen. I'll keep fighting for equal opportunities.

1. Missouri prefiled bills are in, and the anti-trans panic continues.

One even goes as far as to ban social transition in schools.

Any teacher who "supports" it, including name changes, pronouns, or "treatment," would be fired.

Even with parent permission!

Heard the same; this is what I mean by inches from the finish line; scheduled for the final citizenship oath ceremony and now suddenly that date is cancelled and people don't know what will happen next.
Our office has clients caught up in this. Hearing from colleagues nationwide about people having their naturalization oath ceremonies canceled. Some of the affected people aren't even subject to the travel ban due to other acquired citizenship, but they are still being caught up.
The Trump admin has paused all immigration and naturalization processes for people from one of the 19 travel ban countries; including Cuba and Venezuela.

Even people who fully passed the citizenship exam are having their cases put on hold, just inches from the finish line.

It sucks that meeting a new class now involves not just going over the syllabus, setting expectations, and trying to establish a rapport, but also trying to deduce whether any of your new students are vigilante right wing operatives out to seek viral controversy at the expense of your job
If you are a chair of a department or supervise grad students, it might be important to collaborate with your colleagues on ways to strategize when a "problem essay" comes down the pike. It's one small way of protecting each other.

Northwestern’s leaders will likely try to justify their choice to appease fascist extortion with some BS about needing to help researchers get federal funds that were illegally withheld, so it’s important to note that virtually all of the researchers said not to.
So apparently the administrators at Northwestern have caved to the extortionist demands of the Feds. Faculty voted 595-4 AGAINST this measure.
