Just a quick reminder that you can still renew your U.S. passport and ask for it to be expedited and you miiight get it back before the inauguration. Here's the State Department page on passports. And according to Emily Quinn on Bluesky, as of right now (until January 20), "changing a gender marker on an existing passport is self ID—no medical evidence necessary, no matching state ID needed." …

In order to get a high school diploma, Oklahoma’s governor wants students to be accepted into college, accepted into a trade school, or join the army.

Remember how Project 2025 calls for all public school students to take the military entrance exam?

Sounds like a new version of the draft to me.

You’ll notice how mainstream media tiptoes around this blatant worldwide power grab by Musk the same way it contorts itself in reporting on police violence and obvious acts of genocidal violence.

Why? Because they’re communication organs owned by the wealth class. That’s their purpose.

The far right has gamed almost any and all algorithmic systems to push their material to the top of everyone’s feeds no matter the platform you use because the only way the far right and fascist propaganda gets mainstreamed is through gaming traditionally neutral systems to spread their message
Podbean keeps trying to recommend Ben Shapiro and Jordan Peterson podcasts to me because I listen to philosophy lectures and shit like that. But I don't want their pseudointellectual misogynistic fart-huffing on my feed, I have nothing but contempt for those trashy poseurs. Are there alternatives?

Laziness is a human right.

Anyone telling you that you need to maximize your day to more workload efficiency should be mocked and shunned from society.

Naps are a necessity.

Anyone that makes a spreadsheet to analyze daily task scheduling should be dragged behind a car.

An important part of going fast is knowing when to take it slow!

Hard work alone is not inherently virtuous, and anyone who tells you otherwise is a victim of capitalist propaganda or is pushing it themselves!

Seen a few folks astonished by my lack of support for ChatGPT and similar. Because AI, right?

Yeah, no. What we have right now is glorified autocorrect. Glorified autocorrect that takes the energy of an entire city to do what it does, plus half of Lake Erie to cool down while it's doing it.

The obvious yellow paint in games that guide players where they need to go should be an optional toggle.

That way those who turn them off will have to learn that nature and reality doesn’t actually give “organic directions” for them to follow and prove again why game devs use yellow paint.

The first photo of the Andromeda galaxy was taken by astronomer Isaac Roberts #OTD in 1888.

The image, captured with his 20" reflector, revealed a clear spiral structure. But scientists at the time thought M31 was a nebula, a gas cloud in our galaxy. 🧪 🔭
