every self-proclaimed dem who is not frothing at the mouth to abolish this agency ain't really a dem
Holy hell. DHS just openly stated that its agents use “reasonable suspicion” to make ARRESTS. This is blatantly unconstitutional. The Supreme Court is clear that you need probable cause to arrest someone, as opposed to stop them to ask them a question or two. This is huge b/c…

NPR today: for the first time in over 50 years we are now operating without any federal funding

Also NPR today: now for some uncritical coverage of the people who made it so that for the first time in over 50 years we are now operating without any federal funding
Love hearing an NPR reporter repeat Vought's line about "unconstitutional DEI principles" with nary a query about what the fuck that actually means. At some point we need journalists to make this administration explain some of these batshit utterances.

The year is 2003.

17-year-old Stephen Miller is sitting in the back of a school bus talking about torture, as in “Torture is a celebration of human life and dignity."

Miller looks directly into the camera and describes the torturing Iraqis in gruesome detail, as his peers laugh uncomfortably.

My favourite thing about JK Rowling claiming she lived through poverty is the state provided her with a one-bedroom flat which she always refers to as “a glorified bedsit”. The “glorified” bit is: a separate bedroom and living room.

Have the ‘gender critical’ transphobes undone themselves in their relentless pushing of boundaries to be even more bigoted? 🤨
When Belief Crosses the Line: Kathleen Stock, Grainger V, and the Legal Limits of Exclusion
Thanks to a sharp legal commentary from Alice Appleby, we now have a clearer view of how gender critical belief may have just undone itself in court.

So yeah, we can't "just leave". We're scared, we are fucking terrified. We don't need a lecture on how we're awful people for hiding. If you wouldn't hide Anne Frank in your attic, you at LEAST wouldn't tell her how to survive under Hitler.
