I'm a few hours from leaving for my favorite weekend of the year. 5 or 6 of my best and oldest friends get together for a long weekend and play dozens of board games.

Has anyone started a movement where we all decide not to repay our student loans? I feel like attacks on Universities and the Department of Education, not to mention murdering the economy, are enough of a justification.

I consider myself under the broad umbrella of atheism but that does not mean I do not have faith.
I just don't have it in a deity.
I have faith that a better world is possible. I can't prove it conclusively. But I believe it. Because I have to in order to keep going.

There is nothing wrong with playing and loving D&D. I want you to love what you love, and I'd rather you be playing something than nothing... but there are other, better TTRPGs out there! Whatever you love about D&D, I can basically promise there is a game out there that does it better!

Just watched Monty Python and the Holy Grail with my kids. Luckily they both thought it was hilarious. I don't have to disown them.

One of the things that is hard right now is that it feels *wrong* to feel anything other than sad/angry given the reality we live in.
Every time I notice myself feeling good, I feel guilty about it.
I don't know how to balance that things are shit for so many people, but basically fine for me.

I’ve noticed that when I run TTRPGs I'm reluctant to let the state of the world change much much. Like an episodic TV series, a problem arises, the heroes fix it, but then it's homeostasis. I need to shake that habit; let my players become rulers, upset the world balance, and really change things.

It’s amazing how many of my interactions with people, especially as individuals, are basically pleasant. I find that amazing because somehow all those pleasant people together lead to… well… *gestures broadly at the world*

Not complaining about a win, especially against a good Kings team, but it is kinda sad that no one other than Jokic could hit a shot in the 4th quarter. I would have loved a 30-20-20 game for him.
