You hit the NAIL ON THE HEAD, Simon. While women and men might 'get there' together, the biological pathways are sometimes (not always) vastly different. There is increasing evidence of immune pathways being implicated (doi.org/10.1093/brai... as one ex). So much more that needs to be discovered.
