Ok leading up to the nyc mayor election there’s a point I just want to say somewhere, which is that becoming mayor of NYC is a TERRIBLE career move.

Super happy to see Mamdani’s style of politics getting some daylight but that city eats its mayors alive.

Musk’s main use case for grok right now is for it to answer people’s “is this true bro” questions on twitter.

People treat grok’s answer as authoritative, the tiebreaker in arguments. He wants the stuff it spits out to agree with him.

That’s it. That’s the grift.

I saw the first couple episodes of murderbot and I’m just so offended by the casting.

I can’t believe that in 2025 they cast a white dude to play the title role instead of an actual murderbot.

When you ask rightwingers attacking universities “ok, where would you like the medical research to happen?” they have no answer because they don’t care.

The golden goose story was at least about greed.

These people are killing the golden goose because they think it’s a democrat.

Hopefully it’s clear that President Stephen Miller’s goal is not to get universities to agree to a 15% rate cap, it’s to crush universities and jam them full of MAGA political commissars, as the Harvard letter said explicitly.

If universities cave on the rate cap, Miller will just escalate. 1/
Department of Energy is indeed sending out notices to universities cancelling all of our grants unless the university agrees to a 15% rate cap.

1. The Department of Health and Human Services has launched a national "snitch form" to report gender affirming care providers.

The last few times state Republicans did this, they were overloaded with memes and Bee Movie scripts.

They’re saying openly they want to make everyone so poor and miserable that they have to accept whatever low paying jobs the plutocrats offer. That’s it, that’s the whole thing.
Hearing the same from a direct source. People in Americorps being told they're done. It's over. No notice.

the *key* lesson of the 2008 Great Recession was that the FIRE industry had fallen for their own magical thinking.
Then we were told these institutions were "too big to [be allowed to] fail". so they, and their new flights of fancy, kept on going.
their failure of imagination is *precedented*
As bond and currency markets show capital flight from the US—opposite of what usually happens in global economic turmoil—Wall St. brought these losses on themselves.

Told each other Trump didn’t mean what he kept saying and partially did last time, that’s just for the rubes.

Who’s the rube now?
