Wow. Just…wow. Couldn’t put it down. Needed tissues. Feel like I’m hungover, but in a good way. Every second of this book was visceral. And nostalgic. And enlightening.

I’m a little depressed knowing it’s over and the next read likely won’t be as impactful. Sigh.

As Trump sets his sights on defunding @pbs.org and @npr.org, @ricksteves.bsky.social reminds us just how important public broadcasting is to all of us. Read:

First visit to the water near my house. I picked an unseasonably cold and windy day, but it was perfect for reading and car sitting with a coffee.

Wow. This entire thread and sub-threads is worth a read.
I'm glad that more people are beginning to see that the "gender-critical" theory of sex is downright (at least) creationist-adjacent
the attempts to account for that take the form of 1) those people have/had the 'potential' to produce gametes, under different circumstances, even if they don't or never do, & 2) those individuals are 'designed' to produce one or the other, even if they do not

Scoping out the flowers at @traderjoesunited.bsky.social and found these artificial white roses. I don’t know what this material is, but they are much nicer than your typical craft store fake flowers.

We saw one of these little guys in the woods today for the first time this year. ☺️ If you see one, please don’t pick them up! Aside from the danger of falling, their skin is highly porous so you can unintentionally make them sick from the oils, salt, bug spray, sunblock, etc. on your hands. 🧵

Welsh folklore tells us that May Day Eve is one of three "spirit nights" (ysbrydnos) when the supernatural may be encountered.
Like Halloween, ghosts and goblins are abroad, and the best form of protection is to huddle around a roaring bonfire.
Stay safe out there!
